Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January last year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Bitch I Made this Pot by Theaster Gates. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,638.00 (€ 1,963.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theaster Gates achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Flag For The Least Of Them in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 807,000.00 (€ 704,434.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bitch I Made this Pot von Theaster Gates zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.638,00 (€ 1.963,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theaster Gates erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Flag For The Least Of Them im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 807.000,00 (€ 704.434,36).
