Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition in blue and black by Teddy Millington-Drake was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,297.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Teddy Millington-Drake - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four views of Easter Island, South-East Pacific, including: Poke Volcano; Moais at Rano Raraku; Moais at Aku Aki; and Fallen Moai with Poke Volcano in the distance, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,816.13).
