Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The River at Madurai by Teddy Millington-Drake was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 115.00 (€ 188.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Teddy Millington-Drake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four views of Easter Island, South-East Pacific, including: Poke Volcano; Moais at Rano Raraku; Moais at Aku Aki; and Fallen Moai with Poke Volcano in the distance in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,816.13).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Four views of Easter Island, South-East Pacific, including: Poke Volcano; Moais at Rano Raraku; Moais at Aku Aki; and Fallen Moai with Poke Volcano in the distance im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.816,13).
