Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Petworth House by Teddy Millington-Drake was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Including Russian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,649.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Teddy Millington-Drake - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four views of Easter Island, South-East Pacific, including: Poke Volcano; Moais at Rano Raraku; Moais at Aku Aki; and Fallen Moai with Poke Volcano in the distance, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,816.13).
