Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work The Wiggliness by Sue Williams. The price achieved of USD 2,142.00 (€ 2,156.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sue Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New Yellow and Orange in September this year with an auction result of USD 127,000.00 (€ 119,992.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Wiggliness von Sue Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.142,00 (€ 2.156,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sue Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New Yellow and Orange im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 127.000,00 (€ 119.992,44).
