Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bush Aids; and Aids & the Federal Government by Sue Coe was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 246.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sue Coe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 2nd Degree As Ault W/ Deadly Weapon (Triptyque), 1978 in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 3,718.00.
