Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Combat de Taureaux (Le Toreador Mort); and Bullfight (The Dead Toreador) 1864, from the series Exquisite Corpse: The Complete Paintings of Manet by Stephen Prina was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2016. It achieved a price of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,473.45), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Stephen Prina have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blind No. 12 Fifteen-Foot Ceiling or Lower (Cobalt Blue/Red/Naples Yellow Hue/Diarylide Yellow) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,492.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Combat de Taureaux (Le Toreador Mort); and Bullfight (The Dead Toreador) 1864, from the series Exquisite Corpse: The Complete Paintings of Manet von Stephen Prina kam im Oktober 2016 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.473,45) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stephen Prina auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blind No. 12 Fifteen-Foot Ceiling or Lower (Cobalt Blue/Red/Naples Yellow Hue/Diarylide Yellow) im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 27.492,67).
