Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pulcinella Ii by Sorel Etrog was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,910.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sorel Etrog - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Family Group, which sold at auction in November 2013 for USD 161,000.00 (€ 118,330.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pulcinella Ii von Sorel Etrog wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.910,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sorel Etrog mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Family Group beobachtet, die im November 2013 für USD 161.000,00 (€ 118.330,15) versteigert wurde.
