Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Africana by Sorel Etrog. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,309.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sorel Etrog have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Family Group in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 161,000.00 (€ 118,330.15).
