The work Hasidic Head by Sorel Etrog was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2020. It achieved a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,849.84), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sorel Etrog - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Family Group, which sold at auction in November 2013 for USD 161,000.00 (€ 118,330.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Hasidic Head von Sorel Etrog kam im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.849,84) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Für andere Arbeiten von Sorel Etrog mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Family Group beobachtet, die im November 2013 für USD 161.000,00 (€ 118.330,15) versteigert wurde.
