This artwork by Sorel Etrog achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2017. In the First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Key Head Gendarme sold for USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,139.86) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sorel Etrog have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Family Group in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 161,000.00 (€ 118,330.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sorel Etrog erzielte im Juli 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Key Head Gendarme für USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.139,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sorel Etrog auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Family Group im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 161.000,00 (€ 118.330,15).
