Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2012 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist / Modern Works on Paper, which included the work Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond bleu by Sophie Taeuber-Arp. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,835.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sophie Taeuber-Arp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 218,725.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist / Modern Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond bleu von Sophie Taeuber-Arp zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.835,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sophie Taeuber-Arp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 218.725,28).
