Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Modules) by Sirous Namazi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,398.52). Admittedly, works by Sirous Namazi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Utan titel", 2002 in November 2010 with an auction result of SEK 130,000.00 (€ 14,210.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Modules) von Sirous Namazi im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.398,52) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sirous Namazi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Utan titel", 2002 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 130.000,00 (€ 14.210,65).
