Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Villa on the Riviera by John Lavery was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year. It achieved a price of USD 403,200.00 (€ 390,584.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 15%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Lavery - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Terrace, Cap d'Ail, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 1,162,500.00 (€ 1,363,272.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Villa on the Riviera von John Lavery kam im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 403.200,00 (€ 390.584,13) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 15%. Für andere Arbeiten von John Lavery mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Terrace, Cap d'Ail beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 1.162.500,00 (€ 1.363.272,29) versteigert wurde.
