Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work On The Sands by John Lavery was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 98,280.00 (€ 114,495.11), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Lavery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Terrace, Cap d'Ail in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,162,500.00 (€ 1,363,272.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit On The Sands von John Lavery wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 98.280,00 (€ 114.495,11) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Lavery erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Terrace, Cap d'Ail im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.162.500,00 (€ 1.363.272,29).
