Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December this year Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Portrait of Mabel Choate (1870-1958) by John Lavery. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,380.00 (€ 18,869.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Lavery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Terrace, Cap d'Ail in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,162,500.00 (€ 1,363,272.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Mabel Choate (1870-1958) von John Lavery zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.380,00 (€ 18.869,13) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Lavery erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Terrace, Cap d'Ail im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.162.500,00 (€ 1.363.272,29).
