In September this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work My Belly Button Window by Shinique Smith. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,760.00 (€ 30,952.38), 64% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shinique Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rose Colored Times, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).

Im September diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit My Belly Button Window von Shinique Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 30.952,38) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Shinique Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rose Colored Times beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65) versteigert wurde.
