This artwork by Shinique Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November last year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Baltimore, MD In the Twilight sold for USD 40,695.00 (€ 39,421.68) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shinique Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rose Colored Times, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Shinique Smith erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Baltimore, MD In the Twilight für USD 40.695,00 (€ 39.421,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shinique Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rose Colored Times beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65) versteigert wurde.
