This artwork by Sherrie Levine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June last year. In the Editions Southampton auction, the work Barcham Green Portfolio No. 2 sold for USD 2,142.00 (€ 2,046.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sherrie Levine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 778,469.75).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sherrie Levine erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions Southampton wurde die Arbeit Barcham Green Portfolio No. 2 für USD 2.142,00 (€ 2.046,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sherrie Levine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fountain (After Marcel Duchamp) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 778.469,75).
