The work Eye-I-ing Those Armorial Bearings II by Shahzia Sikander was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in March this year. It achieved a price of USD 22,860.00 (€ 21,026.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 27%. Admittedly, works by Shahzia Sikander have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Veil 'N Trail in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Eye-I-ing Those Armorial Bearings II von Shahzia Sikander wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 22.860,00 (€ 21.026,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 27%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shahzia Sikander auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Veil 'N Trail im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 208.761,56).
