Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Text as Camo I & II by Shahzia Sikander was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in June 2019. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,051.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shahzia Sikander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil 'N Trail in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Text as Camo I & II von Shahzia Sikander wurde im Juni 2019 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.051,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shahzia Sikander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil 'N Trail im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 208.761,56).
