Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pathology Of Suspension by Shahzia Sikander was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 76,414.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shahzia Sikander - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Veil 'N Trail, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).

Die Arbeit Pathology Of Suspension von Shahzia Sikander kam im September 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 69.300,00 (€ 76.414,52) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shahzia Sikander mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Veil 'N Trail beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 325.000,00 (€ 208.761,56) versteigert wurde.
