Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pathology Of Suspension # 11 by Shahzia Sikander was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,601.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Shahzia Sikander have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Veil 'N Trail in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pathology Of Suspension # 11 von Shahzia Sikander wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.601,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shahzia Sikander auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Veil 'N Trail im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 208.761,56).
