This work without title by Shahzia Sikander was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. The auction ended at the price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,067.01), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shahzia Sikander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil 'N Trail in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shahzia Sikander wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.067,01) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shahzia Sikander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil 'N Trail im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 208.761,56).
