Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Walking, New York by Saul Leiter was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 9,450.00 (€ 9,512.78). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Saul Leiter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,990.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Walking, New York von Saul Leiter kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 9.450,00 (€ 9.512,78) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Saul Leiter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.990,59) versteigert wurde.
