Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Saul Leiter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Sydney in November this year. In the Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection auction, the work Untitled, 1950-1980 sold for EUR 16,380.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Saul Leiter; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Snow sold at auction in May 2021 with the realized price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,990.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Saul Leiter erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Sydney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection wurde die Arbeit Untitled, 1950-1980 für EUR 16.380,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Saul Leiter; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Snow im Mai 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.990,59).
