Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in Sydney held the auction Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection, which included the work T, 1950 by Saul Leiter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,300.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Saul Leiter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,990.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit T, 1950 von Saul Leiter zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.300,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Saul Leiter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.990,59) versteigert wurde.
