Auction result well in line with expectations
The work SOMEONE DROPPED A BOMB ON ME by Sarah Lucas was sold in the 20th Century to Now auction at Phillips in London in June this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 190,500.00 (€ 221,709.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sarah Lucas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bunny Gets Snookered #8, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 736,600.00 (€ 691,383.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit SOMEONE DROPPED A BOMB ON ME von Sarah Lucas wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century to Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 190.500,00 (€ 221.709,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sarah Lucas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bunny Gets Snookered #8 beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 736.600,00 (€ 691.383,52) versteigert wurde.
