Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jubilee by Sarah Lucas was auctioned at Phillips in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 101,600.00 (€ 116,665.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sarah Lucas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bunny Gets Snookered #8 in May this year with an auction result of USD 736,600.00 (€ 691,383.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Jubilee von Sarah Lucas kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 101.600,00 (€ 116.665,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sarah Lucas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bunny Gets Snookered #8 im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 736.600,00 (€ 691.383,52).
