In March 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Reb Bowls by Sarah Charlesworth. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,644.01), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sarah Charlesworth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seated Buddha (from 0 + 1) in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 25,200.00 (€ 21,767.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reb Bowls von Sarah Charlesworth zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.644,01) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sarah Charlesworth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seated Buddha (from 0 + 1) im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 21.767,30).
