Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Opening the Fold or Early Morning by Samuel Palmer was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 701.25 (€ 778.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Palmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shepherd leading his flock under the full moon in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,588,000.00 (€ 1,862,259.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Opening the Fold or Early Morning von Samuel Palmer kam im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 701,25 (€ 778,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Palmer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Shepherd leading his flock under the full moon im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.588.000,00 (€ 1.862.259,27).
