The work The Rising Moon, or An English Pastoral (Lister 7) by Samuel Palmer was sold in the British Country Life auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,083.75 (€ 1,272.42), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Palmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shepherd leading his flock under the full moon in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 1,588,000.00 (€ 1,862,259.27).

Die Arbeit The Rising Moon, or An English Pastoral (Lister 7) von Samuel Palmer wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion British Country Life bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.083,75 (€ 1.272,42) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Palmer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Shepherd leading his flock under the full moon im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.588.000,00 (€ 1.862.259,27).
