Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head with Braids by Roy Lichtenstein was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 2,340,000.00 (€ 2,180,598.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head with Braids von Roy Lichtenstein wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.340.000,00 (€ 2.180.598,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
