Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Scumak (S1-P2-W17) by Roxy Paine. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,815.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roxy Paine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Model For Bluff in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 131,250.00 (€ 116,895.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scumak (S1-P2-W17) von Roxy Paine zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.815,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roxy Paine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Model For Bluff im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 131.250,00 (€ 116.895,26).
