Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work S2-P2-M19 by Roxy Paine was auctioned at Phillips in London in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,651.00 (€ 1,926.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roxy Paine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Model For Bluff in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 131,250.00 (€ 116,895.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit S2-P2-M19 von Roxy Paine im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.651,00 (€ 1.926,22) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roxy Paine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Model For Bluff im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 131.250,00 (€ 116.895,26).
