Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Head Of A Man) by Ron Mueck was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,133.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ron Mueck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Big Baby in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 825,250.00 (€ 912,985.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Head Of A Man) von Ron Mueck im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.133,87) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ron Mueck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Big Baby im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 825.250,00 (€ 912.985,73).
