Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ron Mueck could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Man in Blankets changed hands for USD 447,000.00 (€ 383,033.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ron Mueck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Big Baby, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 825,250.00 (€ 912,985.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ron Mueck konnte im Mai 2018 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Man in Blankets für USD 447.000,00 (€ 383.033,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ron Mueck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Big Baby beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 825.250,00 (€ 912.985,73) versteigert wurde.
