The work Spiral Jetty by Robert Smithson was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in November 2018. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,286.85), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Smithson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alogon #3 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 4,297,000.00 (€ 2,761,568.12).

Die Arbeit Spiral Jetty von Robert Smithson wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.286,85) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Smithson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alogon #3 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.297.000,00 (€ 2.761.568,12).
