Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
The work Torn Photograph from the Second Stop (Rubble) Second Mountain of Six Stops on a Section by Robert Smithson was worth EUR 5,670.00 to a buyer in April last year. This price was achieved in the auction Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell at Sothebys in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 700.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Smithson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alogon #3 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 4,297,000.00 (€ 2,761,568.12).
Kunstwerk zum Achtfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Torn Photograph from the Second Stop (Rubble) Second Mountain of Six Stops on a Section von Robert Smithson war einem Käufer im April letzten Jahres EUR 5.670,00 wert.
