Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Robert Smithson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in April last year. In the Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell auction, the work Location Alfred, NY sold for EUR 5,670.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Smithson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alogon #3 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 4,297,000.00 (€ 2,761,568.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Smithson erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell wurde die Arbeit Location Alfred, NY für EUR 5.670,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Smithson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alogon #3 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.297.000,00 (€ 2.761.568,12).
