Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (9488) by Robert Marc was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,169.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Marc achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2020 with an auction result of USD 44,062.50 (€ 36,878.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (9488) von Robert Marc im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.169,82) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Marc erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.062,50 (€ 36.878,56).
