Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern Art Online including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso, which included the work Composition by Robert Marc. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,787.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Marc - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2020 for USD 44,062.50 (€ 36,878.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern Art Online including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition von Robert Marc zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 17.787,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Marc mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2020 für USD 44.062,50 (€ 36.878,56) versteigert wurde.
