This artwork by Richard Hunt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2019. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction, the work Hybrid sold for USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,604.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Hunt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wing Bloom, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 138,600.00 (€ 119,000.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Hunt erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Hybrid für USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.604,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Hunt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wing Bloom beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 138.600,00 (€ 119.000,60) versteigert wurde.
