Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two Untitled Lithographs by Richard Hunt was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 768.00 (€ 671.21). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wing Bloom in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 138,600.00 (€ 119,000.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two Untitled Lithographs von Richard Hunt im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 768,00 (€ 671,21) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wing Bloom im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 119.000,60).
