Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Torero by Ricardo Martínez was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,260.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ricardo Martínez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figura Yacente in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 257,000.00 (€ 197,874.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Torero von Ricardo Martínez kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.260,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ricardo Martínez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figura Yacente im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 257.000,00 (€ 197.874,96).
