Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2018 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work After the Garden of Earthly Delights - Hieronymus Bosch by Raqib Shaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 183,652.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raqib Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garden Of Earthly Delights Iii in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,708,500.00 (€ 3,889,584.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit After the Garden of Earthly Delights - Hieronymus Bosch von Raqib Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 183.652,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raqib Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Garden Of Earthly Delights Iii im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.708.500,00 (€ 3.889.584,22).
