Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Raqib Shaw could be acquired at Sothebys in London in September 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, this work without title changed hands for GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,279.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raqib Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garden Of Earthly Delights Iii in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,708,500.00 (€ 3,889,584.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Raqib Shaw konnte im September 2020 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.279,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raqib Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Garden Of Earthly Delights Iii im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.708.500,00 (€ 3.889.584,22).
