Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of an Artist by Rameshwar Broota was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 47,768.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 35,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rameshwar Broota achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Numbers in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 912,000.00 (€ 710,667.81).
