Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Scripted in Time II by Rameshwar Broota was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak auction at Christies in New York in March last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 302,400.00 (€ 272,604.35). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rameshwar Broota - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Numbers, which sold at auction in May 2006 for USD 912,000.00 (€ 710,667.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Scripted in Time II von Rameshwar Broota wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 302.400,00 (€ 272.604,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Rameshwar Broota mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Numbers beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für USD 912.000,00 (€ 710.667,81) versteigert wurde.
