Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ralph Steadman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in April last year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work The Hunting of the Snark sold for GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,672.43) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralph Steadman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hunger, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,981.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralph Steadman erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit The Hunting of the Snark für GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.672,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ralph Steadman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hunger beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.981,18) versteigert wurde.
